Inheriting Penrose in 1974 the National Trust often refer to the estate as their hidden jewel. The area boasts amazing contrast, with open parklands, wooded lake side trails and coastal scenery all within a days adventure. The estate features Loe Pool, where some believe Kings Arthur's Excalibur was lost. Then there is Loe Bar a massive single beach dividing the lake from the sea. A well signposted, wide, flat and traffic free trail links the towns of Helston and Porthleven. It's perhaps one of the most beautiful routes you've yet to explore.
Penrose is open every day and free to all.
